Patient care and therapy may be good career choices if you enjoy working closely with patients and caring for others. Patient care technicians and assistants work in hospitals, clinics, and sometimes private homes - providing patient care and personal support. Learning how to collect blood, perform EKGs, and take and record vital signs are just some of the skills that could be covered in these programs. Therapy programs generally focus on either physical therapy or occupational therapy. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, occupational therapists had an average annual salary of $60,470 in 2006, while physical therapists averaged at $66,200.
