Phlebotomy Career

A career in phlebotomy, or blood collection, often requires a unique blend of science and compassion. You provide the compassion while a phlebotomy program usually focuses on the science and techniques of drawing blood. You'll likely study subjects like anatomy and physiology while also gathering on-the-job safety and emergency skills. In addition to venipuncture, the most common method for drawing blood, you'll probably learn safe and alternate methods to use on patients with small, damaged, or hard-to-find veins.
