Education plus military training can be an unbeatable combination for a military promotion or for a civilian career. The Armed Forces offers a Tuition Assistance (TA) program for up to 100% of tuition and fees, and eligible applicants may also be able to use Active Duty GI Benefits for education costs that exceed TA program payments.

Many online and campus-based schools also offer tuition discounts, credit hours for military training and experience, and a variety of other educational benefits for eligible U.S. military personnel. Financial Aid Advisors, knowledgeable about the military, provide help with Armed Forces Tuition Assistance and other military assistance programs as well as federal and private sources of student aid. Kaplan University

Kaplan University's online college degree programs provide the convenience military personnel need to obtain an education. An Armed Forces Admissions Advisor is available to provide admissions and financial aid application information. Eligible active duty military may be qualified for educational assistance, such as a 15% tuition discount, funding from the Montgomery GI Bill, and federal education loans.

Kaplan University also evaluates military training and experience such as basic training, time spent at sea, or on mission exercises to grant equivalent academic credit toward a degree. An education can provide points for your promotion or be the bridge to a civilian career.

Capella University

Overseas or stateside military, active duty, ready reserve, or veteran, U.S. Armed Forces personnel can get a quality online education at Capella University. Education is key to advancing your military career or preparing for a new profession as a civilian. Eligible active duty service members and veterans can receive financial assistance to fund their education through the Armed Forces Tuition Assistance (TA) program, Top-Up Benefits, or Montgomery GI Benefits programs. Capella University also offers a 10-15% tuition discount to military service members including guards, civilian Department of Defense employees, and the immediate families of active duty personnel.

Enrollment counselors are there to help with programs, financial aid, and sorting out your transcripts. You may also qualify to receive academic credit for military training and prior learning.

The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division

U.S. military personnel who are on active duty, in the reserves, or beginning classes within one year of an honorable discharge are eligible for a 20% tuition discount from The Art Institute Online. Grantham University

For over 50 years, Grantham University has been offering education opportunities to members of the military. Military personnel eligible for the Armed Forces Tuition Assistance (TA) program may also be eligible for Grantham University's military scholarship, which covers additional tuition over the amount paid by the TA program, class textbooks and software, and shipping course materials.

Jones International University

Jones International University®'s online format makes getting an education convenient for military personnel both stateside and abroad. JIU™ provides a 20% tuition scholarship with a flexible option for full refund or retaking the class if a student is deployed. Eligible transfer credits, credit by exam, and credit for military training are accepted toward an undergraduate or graduate degree.

JIU™ participates in the Armed Forces Tuition Assistance program and the Troops to Teachers Program for military personnel who want to transition to the civilian classroom as a teacher.

Walden University

Walden University has provided educational opportunities to military personnel for more than 35 years.
